We're on the hunt for a UX/UI Designer who can bring exceptional design and beautiful experiences to our clients digital properties. You'll be joining our growing Auckland team in our beautiful new offices in downtown Britomart. You stress the pixels, crave the craft and enjoy the challenge of making the complex simple. And in partnership with our research and technical teams, provide the very best in digital design system, user experience and interface design direction — transforming business needs, market research and user insights into world-leading mobile app, website and product design.

You'll be intimately involved in delivering mobile apps, websites and other web-based solutions for our clients and on-going projects as required. You'll also be involved in managing specific projects and clients, maintain regular, effective and professional communication with all clients, and work closely with the design and development team to see projects through to completion.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the digital design for short and long-term projects, working closely with our research and technical teams to passionately ensure your experience is brought to life authentically and with pixel-perfect accuracy
  • Creating and working on multiple client digital design systems (pattern libraries)
  • Immersing yourself within our clients' teams, understanding their challenges and opportunities, as well as their product and service offerings
  • Develop original assets, mobile-first designs and user journeys that are in line with the project’s objectives and that meet and exceed client expectations
  • Creating mood boards, wireframes, concepts and full digital designs into a visual feast for clients such as Mercury, 2degrees and Fonterra
  • Stay updated on the latest developments, trends and thinking within digital design and share your knowledge and thoughts with both colleagues and clients
  • Reporting directly to our Creative Director on a daily basis, you’ll continually define the best direction for the project and client you’re working for

Requirements

  • 4+ years working in the UX and digital design industry with a portfolio you're proud of to back it up
  • 4+ years advanced experience in design software (e.g. Sketch, InVision)
  • Proven experience and understanding of human centered design principles
  • Proven experience in designing websites and mobile apps from lo-fi through to finished product
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
  • Passionate about, and adherence to, web standards
  • Proven experience in researching, designing and launching products that have delighted customers and exceeded client expectations
  • Knows what types of experiences are made possible by current technologies
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Ability to manage your workload to meet time and budget expectations
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to help scope new projects
  • Good working knowledge of the Mac OS X
  • Experience in providing superior customer service
  • Experience in working as part of a team
  • Experience in continually looking for improvements.
